Dr. Jiong Ma brings over 25 years of experience in investing, building, and scaling global technology companies, having most recently served as Senior Partner and a member of the investment committee at Braemar Energy Ventures, a venture capital fund, leading investments in resource efficiency, e-mobility, industrial digitalization, renewable energy, and deep tech.
Dr. Ma serves on the board of Anavex Life Sciences Corp. (NYSDAQ: AVXL), Solid Energy Systems (NYSE: SES), and LinkinVax, and previously served on more than 10 corporate boards. She is also currently an advisory board member for the National Renewable Energy Labs, a national laboratory of the U.S. Department of Energy which develops solutions to transform the generation, consumption, storage, and distribution of energy.
Previously, Dr. Ma led investments in technology & media, digital health, and cleantech at 3i, a global private equity firm. Prior to 3i, she held senior positions at Lucent Technologies and Bell Labs, was responsible for product portfolio strategy, new product launches, and research and product development. Earlier still, she was a founding team member of Onetta, a fiber networks company. Dr. Ma holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Worchester Polytechnic Institute, a BS in Physics and Electrical Engineering from Lanzhou University in China. She is also a Kauffman Fellow.
